Monocular compound microscope - 1920-1930 - Germany - Wilhelm Klein

Old and rare Microscope Set, from the brand "Wilhelm Klein", manufactured in the 1920s, in Germany, in the famous city of Wetzlar. The Microscope comes in its original wooden case (28cm x 23cm x 10cm), complete with all accessories and manual. The set is in very good condition, considering that it is about 100 years old - see photos.

Wilhelm Klein was a brand of microscopes from Wetzlar, the city where Carl Kellner founded the first optical institute in 1849 and from where Leitz originated. They had the workshop in Wetzlar and the sales office in Berlin SO 16, the "Gesellschaft für Mikroskopie". Between 1900 and 1940 they made microscopes for students, lacquered in black in a wooden box with a manual, like this "Anleitung zum Mikroskopieren". This was one of the first microscopes for schools and amateurs. The brand disappeared after World War II and today the surviving microscopes are highly valued as collectibles.
