AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant and rare circular living-room coffee table, crafted from an authentic Restoration-era guéridon (19th century).

The top is a superb, thick Gris Sainte-Anne marble, originally sourced, characterized by its dark background richly speckled with white. The marble border features a very fine marbling work, carved with a groove and beads (beaded edge).

The tripod base, in solid mahogany, ends with powerful lion-paw feet.

The circular belt is clad with mahogany veneer. The central column has been deftly shortened to a contemporary height of 36 cm, transforming this historic piece into a unique, high-end coffee table.

Feet on casters

Dimensions : Diameter: 97 cm (great span) Height: 36 cm

Condition: Good overall. The marble shows a superb patina with its natural veining (see photos). The mahogany varnish is well preserved. Light signs of use consistent with the piece’s age, which do not affect its solidity or charm.
