Stunning Louis XV style master armoire in maple burl and burl figure – 19th century
Exceptional 19th-century Louis XV-style armoire, testimony to high-quality regional cabinetmaking. Its structure is in solid fruitwood (cherry and walnut) with a superb warm and bright patina.
The front features two large molded doors with serpentine frames, beautifully showcasing central burl-veneered panels with highly graphic marbled patterns. The lower crosspiece is delicately cut and rests on curved feet known as “goat’s feet.”
The piece is equipped with its long, original forged-iron lock entries, finely chiselled, typical of artisanal tradition.
