For sale is an extraordinary and very rare commode from around 1710, originating from the inventory of a Wiesbaden villa.

The furniture impresses with its exceptionally high-quality, light and intensely figured walnut veneer. Particularly impressive is the elaborately worked tabletop with its very fine geometric inlays and marquetry. Also the front and sides are richly veneered, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship of this piece that is over 300 years old.

An extraordinary, over 300-year-old piece of furniture with a museum-like character, elaborate inlay work and a representative presence. Due to its quality and rarity, the plan is to submit the commode to an auction in the near future. Until then, there is still the possibility of a direct purchase.

Visually, the piece appears at first glance to be a classic three-drawer commode. In fact, it has four individually operable drawers: the top level is divided in the middle into two separate drawers, while below there are two large, continuous drawers. This construction is harmoniously integrated into the overall design from the outside.

Noteworthy is the surrounding brass inlay on the tabletop. On account of various stylistic and craft features, the piece is attributed to Thomas Hache. A definite signature could not be established. On the back there is a heavily aged historical paper label, whose inscription is unfortunately no longer fully legible today.

The commode has been fully restored and is ready to live in. It is in very good overall condition for its exceptional age. Minor age-related signs of use and traces of earlier restoration may, of course, be present.
Please note that the gilded bronze mounts have been replaced.
