Beautiful, vibrant graphic by the famed artist Jan Snoeck.

This work is a typical example of Snoeck's optimistic and playful style. The composition makes use of his characteristic primary color palette (red, blue, yellow) supplemented with green and bold black forms. The organic lines evoke human figures or profiles, a theme central to his entire oeuvre.

Jan Snoeck (1927 - 2018) studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, where he graduated in 1949. In 1953 he spent a year in Ossip Zadkine's studio in Paris.

Initially, Snoeck worked with stone, wood and bronze. Later he mainly worked in ceramics. He used bright, primary colors and people are usually his subject. Among other things, he made the beds for the MCH Westeinde in The Hague. Snoeck's predominantly monumental work can be found in the Netherlands as well as abroad.

Works by Snoeck are in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem and the Princessehof Museum in Leeuwarden.

Jan Snoeck was a pupil of Ossip Zadkine, studied at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague.
