Eumig P8 M Projector

In auction an absolute masterpiece of vintage cinema mechanics and one of the most famous projectors in the history of amateur cinema: the Eumig P8 m, designed and produced in Austria by the prestigious company Eumig starting from the late 1950s. This imposing and robust metal device is intended for projecting historic films in 8mm format (Standard 8 / Regular 8).

The lot presents itself in good general condition, with normal and light signs of use consistent with the item’s age, and is tested and functioning, configured with its upper folding arm.

Optics: The projector is equipped with the excellent original high-brightness Eumig Eupronar 20mm f/1.4 lens. The lenses are in good condition and free of surface scratches. There is a light, normal presence of internal dust, a completely physiologic feature for devices of this era that does not affect in any way the visual quality or the extraordinary brightness of the projection. Manual focus is operational.

Mechanical and Electronics: Tested and perfectly working. The complex fully manual mechanism responds correctly: the internal lamp lights up regularly, the feed motor and the powerful cooling fan start without hesitation, and the mechanical levers for adjusting the film advance and rapid rewind are operational.

Aesthetics: Good overall condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid shell, cast in a conch-like metal, retains its original rough textured finish, showing only normal and slight signs of time. The black and silver front metal plate reading "Eumig P8 m" is shiny and perfectly legible.
