A single Chrome Diopside cabinet specimen on matrix from the Vuonos Mine, Outokumpu Mining District in Finland, featuring two prominent green prismatic crystals about 5–6 cm tall on a matrix with numerous smaller Chrome Diopside crystals, measuring 10 by 12 by 8 cm and weighing 943 g.

Large cabinet specimen of Chrome Diopside (Chromian Diopside) from the classic Vuonos Mine, Outokumpu Mining District, Finland.
The specimen features two prominent green prismatic crystals, approximately 5–6 cm, rising from a matrix richly covered with numerous smaller Chrome Diopside crystals and light-coloured matrix material.
The main crystals show attractive natural growth features, striations and areas of translucency, with colour ranging from light green to deeper chrome-green.
This specimen comes from the old Bent Hansen Mineral Collection in Denmark and is accompanied by its original collector's label reading “CHROM.-DIOPSID. VOUNOS, OUTOKOMPU. FINLAND.”
Natural contact/growth areas and some edge wear are visible on the larger crystals, as shown clearly in the photographs. No repairs or restoration are known.
A substantial classic-locality specimen with particularly impressive crystal size.
