Fluorite with Goethite – Xianghualing Mine, Hunan, China

Attractive cabinet-size fluorite specimen from the famous Xianghualing Mine in Hunan, one of China’s best-known localities for fine fluorite.

The specimen is richly covered with well-formed translucent yellow-brown fluorite crystals, many showing sharp cubic development and strong lustre. Some crystal faces display characteristic secondary goethite growths, appearing as dark brown to black speckled coatings and adding interesting contrast and texture.

A very representative and aesthetic specimen from a classic Xianghualing locality, with dense crystallization and good overall display.
