Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Three-seat Sesann sofa designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina (Italy) in the 1970s, in brown leather with a visible chrome tubular frame, dimensions 240 × 100 × 70 cm, weight 60 kg, in excellent condition with minor signs of wear and age and original leather.
Description from the seller
Splendid Sesann three-seat sofa model in dark brown leather.
It is a Sesann three-seat sofa from the first production, designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina, Italy, circa 1970.
The Sesann is famous for its sculptural silhouette and for the characteristic exposed chromed tubular frame that gracefully wraps the generously padded upholstery.
It is upholstered in a splendid full-grain leather in the original testa di moro color from the period.
Launched by Cassina in 1969, the Sesann collection included a chair, a two-seat sofa, a three-seat sofa and a coffee table.
Its innovative combination of an exposed steel frame and bulky polyurethane foam cushions cemented the series as one of the most representative icons of postwar Italian design.
Overall the sofa is in excellent condition; the leather has no cracks or tears, normal signs of age-related wear, and some areas are a little more discolored on the left armrest, but the padding is still excellent and the frame perfectly intact, moreover it still bears the Cassina badge under the shell.
Finding an original sofa from that era with the original leather in these conditions would be virtually impossible to find on the market today.
Published in major design magazines, it is an icon of Italian design and a piece of furniture and investment, being also a first production.
Dimensions: L 240 x D 100 x H 70 cm
If shipping, it will be carefully packaged and shipped with a tracking number.
