A set of six earthenware pieces in Art Deco style from France, dating to 1930–1940, comprising cups and saucers with matching hexagonal dessert plates decorated in cobalt blue enamels and cloisonné technique.
Description from the seller
A cup-and-saucer set and accompanying hexagonal dessert plate from Emaux de Longwy pottery, distinguished by vivid blue decorations in intricate faience with colored cloisonné enamel technique.
The black lines on the cups and saucers are first impressed into the ceramic. Then the compartments are hand-coloured with liquid enamel, which creates a noticeable relief.
The decoration is a specific design with oriental influence. The central motif consists of peonies and apple or cherry blossoms on a deep blue or turquoise background.
Equipped with the necessary marks on the underside that guarantee the period and authenticity.
