FOR SALE: an impressive fossil egg attributed to Oviraptor sp., originating from the famous Kuipa Formation in Henan Province, China.
Oviraptor was a small, bird-like theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous. The name Oviraptor literally means “egg thief,” a name originally given because the first known specimen was found near dinosaur eggs. Later research has, however, shown that oviraptorids likely guarded their nests and cared for their eggs.
