Coin commemorative issued by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru to commemorate the centenary of the Campaign of La Breña, one of the most notable episodes of the War of the Pacific, led by General Andrés A. Cáceres. The obverse features a detailed and highly expressive portrait of the Peruvian military officer, with excellent definition in the facial features and uniform, while the reverse shows the national coat of arms finely worked, flanked by laurel and palm branches. The specimen retains an attractive original luster, with fields well preserved and sharp reliefs, showing only slight marks typical of MS63 grade, making it a solid and highly representative piece of contemporary Peruvian commemorative numismatics.
