Description from the seller
OLYMPUS PEN-EED, tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Olympus PEN-EED, released in 1967, is a half-frame 35mm camera producing two 18x24mm images per standard frame. It carries the fastest fixed lens ever fitted to a PEN, a 32mm f/1.7 F.Zuiko, paired with a CdS-metered automatic exposure system offering programmed auto or aperture-priority operation. It combined the automation of the PEN EE series with the bright, fast optics previously reserved for the manual PEN D line, and added a self-timer. Because of its fast f/1.7 lens, the EED is generally more sought-after among collectors than the slower f/2.8 and f/3.5 PEN EE models.
Condition: Used — Excellent
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Finder: Internally cleaned — clear
Lens / Sensor: Cleaned internally — clear. A faint trace of past fungus etching remains on one element; no effect on images expected.
Functional
The camera operates properly — shutter and automatic exposure work, and the CdS meter responds (about +0.7 EV at EV12 and +1.9 EV at EV15 against our reference).
Light seals have been replaced and the viewfinder has been cleaned internally.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.7 OVER / EV15: 1.9 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Lens cleaned internally
Bundled Items
Only what you can see in the pictures will be included in the package.
