The Olympus OM40 Program of 1985 (sold as the OM-PC in North America) is the most advanced of Olympus's consumer OM bodies, offering programmed, aperture-priority and manual exposure in the same compact chassis that made the OM system famous. Its headline feature is ESP (Electro-Selective Pattern) metering, which compares centre and surround readings to correct automatically for backlit subjects — an early form of the multi-pattern metering now universal. It takes the full range of OM-mount lenses, and here it comes with a Tefnon H/D-MC 80-200mm f/4 Macro zoom, a multi-coated constant-aperture telephoto from the Japanese third-party makers of the period, giving a versatile portrait-to-telephoto outfit ready to shoot.

Lens / Sensor: Clear — no haze, fungus or scratches.

Functional
The camera operates properly — see the measured shutter figures below (1/1 at 1s, 1/64 at 1/60, 1/1260 at 1/1000 — all close to spec).
The meter is accurate: about +0.3 EV at EV12 and -0.1 EV at EV15.
Light seals have been replaced.
The Tefnon 80-200mm f/4 Macro zoom (OM mount) operates smoothly — zoom, focus and aperture all work.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1 s (on the mark)
- 1/60 — measured 1/64 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/1260 s (approx. 0.3 stop fast)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.3 OVER / EV15: 0.1 UNDER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Shipping
We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.
