The Nikon F, launched in 1959, was Nippon Kogaku's first 35mm SLR and the camera that established Nikon as the dominant force in professional photography. This example carries the Photomic FTn finder (introduced 1968), which added through-the-lens centre-weighted metering with a semi-automatic maximum-aperture indexing system. Built almost entirely of metal, the F is celebrated for its ruggedness, mechanical precision and its vast, forward-compatible F-mount system, and remains one of the most historically important cameras ever produced.

Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. A small non-original panel has been fitted to the lower front of the body, below the lens mount, by a previous owner (see photos).

Optical Condition
Finder: Body only — no lens. Please check the photos of the prism and focusing screen.

Functional
The camera operates properly — see the measured shutter figures below (1/1.1 at 1s, 1/60 at 1/60, 1/837 at 1/1000).
The Photomic FTn meter responds and reads close to accurate: about -0.7 EV at EV12 and +0.2 EV at EV15.

Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/1.1 s (approx. 0.1 stop fast)
- 1/60 — measured 1/60 s (on the mark)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/837 s (approx. 0.3 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 0.7 UNDER / EV15: 0.2 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.

Known Issues
1. A previous owner has attached a small panel to the lower front of the body below the lens mount (visible in the photos). It does not affect operation, but the camera is not fully original in appearance.
2. The 1/1000 speed measured about 1/837 — slightly slow, but within normal tolerance for a camera of this age.

Shipping
We ship via either FedEx or Japan Post (ePacket), whichever suits the destination and the parcel. With Japan Post your package is handed over to the local postal carrier in your country for final delivery.
We only ship to registered addresses.
We ship within 3 business days after payment.

Customs and Taxes
Parcels are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid): import VAT and any customs duties are collected by customs or the carrier on delivery, in accordance with the rules of the destination country.
Where import taxes have already been collected at checkout — for example under the EU IOSS scheme for orders up to EUR 150 — there is nothing further to pay on delivery.
Import charges vary from country to country, so please check the rules that apply where you live.
