Description from the seller
Wall mirror in Louis XV style, carved and gilded wood - Spain, dated 1948
Elegant wall mirror of fine cabinetry, made in 1948 following the aesthetic standards of Renaissance Rococo / Louis XV. The piece stands out for its trapezoidal silhouette and its impressive carving work. It retains an original label on its interior that documents its year of manufacture (1948) exactly, which gives it high historical and collectible value within Spanish artisanal production of the mid-20th century.
Very good considering its age and use. The wooden frame and the carvings are perfectly firm, solid, and free of wood-borers (powder post beetle). The gilding preserves a magnificent shine with minor wear and a very homogeneous patina of the era. The glass shows aging-related temporal marks (foxing) that enhance its vintage and genuine character. Ready to hang and decorate.
