Description from the seller
Rare 6-Piece Set of Tall Liquor/Tasting Glasses - Gucci Vintage (1970s/1980s)
Exclusive set of 6 tall tasting glasses for liquor, bitters, or grappa, produced in Italy by the prestigious Gucci Maison in the second half of the 20th century. This two-piece set stands out for a sophisticated and eclectic design that combines the purity of glass with material and decorative elements typical of the brand’s historic heritage. Each glass, with a height of 16 centimeters, has a transparent blown glass body with a flared shape, specifically designed to concentrate the aromatic spectrum of the spirits. The base consists of a heavy metal rim in silvered metal that provides structural stability to the piece and bears engraved on the outside the authentic stamp “GUCCI ITALY” in block letters, guaranteeing the absolute originality of the piece. Around the rim is applied a raised cord with a twisted rope motif, whose closure point is finished with a fixed resin element in ivory color that reproduces the iconic horn or stylized tusk motif, a classic nod to the hunting and equestrian-inspired collections historically produced by the Maison.
Condition
The glass is in excellent conservation state, perfectly intact on both pieces and free of chips, threading, or clouding. The two resin horn elements are present, original, and securely anchored to the structure. The base in silvered metal shows a widespread and original natural patina with iridescent and rainbow tones, typical of the aged silver layer exposed to the air. The structure is sound and can be easily polished to a mirror finish with products designed for silverware, according to the future buyer’s preferences.
