Hollow gold pendant amulet representing phallus, suspension loop at the top. For more than three thousand years the phallic symbol was considered a strong good luck and fertility charm and protective against evil eye but never more so than during the Greek and Roman period.

Size: 1.5 cm L (including loop) - 9/16 inch
Material: Gold, 0.6 grms
Culture: Roman, c. 1st-2nd Century A.D.
Condition: Intact


Provenance: The London art market, 2005.
The seller guarantees that this item has been legally acquired & will be legally exported, related documents seen by Catawiki.
