Technics - SE-A5 - 100V Solid state integrated amplifier

This Technics SE-A5 caught my eye with its solid black chassis, gold-plated DC/Normal input terminals and distinctive orange-and-black speaker terminals. Even the underside has that wonderfully purposeful Japanese hi-fi engineering feel—a piece that makes you imagine evenings spent carefully choosing a record and settling into the listening chair. Its classic Technics construction and collector appeal give it a natural presence at auction.

[Appearance]

This vintage Technics SE-A5 shows age-related surface marks, light scratches, dust and signs of normal use, particularly visible on the underside and around the chassis. These traces honestly reflect its years of service, while the terminals, labeling and original Japanese specification plate remain pleasingly well preserved. The gold-colored input terminals and orange/black speaker connectors still give the rear section a wonderfully mechanical, period-correct character. [Functionality]

Power is on, and input and output are functioning properly from each terminal.
There is a slight crackling sound when adjusting the volume.
