IKEA updated version of the Lövet mid‑century design side table, produced in 1999 in the Czech Republic, with a wood poplar veneer top, three slender removable legs with brass‑coloured sockets, and dimensions 77 cm wide, 52 cm high and 39 cm deep, in very good condition with light signs of wear.
Description from the seller
This Lövbacken side table is a wonderful 1950s design side/coffee table.
It is an IKEA-updated version of the famous Mid-Century Lövet table. The Lövet table, originally launched in 1953, was Ikea's first flat-pack product, made by one of Sweden's most successful designers, Gillis Lundgren, and has thus proved to be a very important design.
If you manage to find the original specimen, you’ll own a side table valued at over €1000. Experts from the Swedish auction house Barnebys have already branded this updated version of the table as a future classic. The model features a wooden top with the characteristic grain pattern in poplar veneer and has three slim removable legs with brass-colored bases.
This model was made in 1999; we had three of these tables at home and all were made in the same year. That makes it highly plausible that this iconic side table was produced only in 1999. This light-brown version has a different pattern than the more common dark-brown version and is thus a beautiful unique design item.
The condition is very good with a few superficial scratches.
