The Nike SB Dunk Low "The Wizard of Oz" (also known as "Poppy Field") is a collectible sneaker released in December 2024.
The model pays homage to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz with a design rich in hidden details and textured materials.
Design and Narrative Details:
The sneaker visually narrates the famous scene from the film where Dorothy falls asleep in the poppy field.
The floral upper:
The shoe is entirely covered in fabric with a floral print that evokes red poppies.
Tear-away details:
The floral outer fabric is designed to wear away with use (or to be intentionally removed), revealing a vibrant red leather layer underneath.
Satin tongue:
The two tongues are asymmetrical.
One bears the classic Nike SB logo, while the other displays the official "The Wizard of Oz" text.
The heel:
On the back of both shoes is embroidered Dorothy's famous line "There's no place like home" ("Nessun posto è bello come casa mia").
