A particularly special and historic copy of the famous Statenvertaling (BIBLIA, That is The Whole Holy Scripture), printed in Amsterdam 1740.
​The work contains the beautiful, detailed copper-engraved title page integrated into an architectural gate with the coat of arms of the United Netherlands ("Eendracht Maacht Macht") and the authorization by the States General and the Burgomasters of Amsterdam. Printed by the well-known Amsterdam publishing company including I. van der Putte, P. Verschueren and Ph. Losel.
​A beautiful collectible for lovers of historical books, theology and history. The condition is good. The engraved title page is in neat, fresh condition with a clear print. It comprises 1552 pages in good condition. The binding is undamaged and the brass clip closure still fits perfectly.
