We present a precious antique Chinese rug in Aubusson style, made approximately between 1940 and 1950.
Origin: China

Technique: Traditional hand-tufted
Crafting: 100% handmade
The rug is produced using an ancient manual tufting technique, in which the wool tufts are worked by hand on a cotton base. From the back, the structure is stabilized with a traditional fixing compound that keeps the tufts in place, and finally protected by a textile lining. The pile is worked and cut by hand, creating the beautiful relief characteristic of this type of rug.
It presents an elegant Aubusson-inspired floral design, with a delicate color combination and an appealing relief effect.
For its approximate age of 75–85 years, it is in fairly good overall condition.
The reverse lining shows dirt, stains and wear typical of the years, as clearly seen in the photographs.
