Description from the seller
Elegant custom sideboard of excellent craftsmanship, in a Liberty Art Nouveau style, appreciable around 1900-1920, made of solid wood. The central body has two doors and a central drawer, an open compartment, and two upper glass doors screen-printed with stylized floral motifs. On the sides there are two tall columns featuring a lower door, a central drawer, and an upper glass door screen-printed. All shelves are solid wood, those of the two side columns are fully covered with a wood-tone veneer at the top. Splendid veneer with fruit motif inlays crowning the piece. In the central body there is a gray marble top with white veins and a mirror with beveling on each side. Bronze handles, key-operated locks. Condition: very good, the sideboard shows some signs of age, the marble top has two scratches but can be re-polished. Under a shelf (as can be seen from the attached photo) there are several stamps bearing the inscription “W. BENITO MUSSOLINI,” testifying to the historical significance of the piece.
