Description from the seller

Three-piece bureau ensemble in a classic English Regency style, presumably manufactured in Europe around 1950–1975.

The ensemble consists of a spacious writing desk with three drawers, a wooden armchair with upholstered seat, and a large display cabinet.

The writing desk features a rectangular brown leather writing surface with blind-stamped floral edge ornament. The top rests on two ornately shaped saber legs, connected by a turned wooden crossbar. At the front there are three drawers.

The armchair has curved armrests, turned front legs, and an openwork backrest. The seat is upholstered in a neutral grey-green fabric.

The monumental cabinet consists of a closed lower cabinet with three individual paneled doors and an upper cabinet with three glass doors and shelves. The classic hardware is finished in brass-tone.

The full ensemble has been in the same Belgian family for three generations. No visible maker’s marks or manufacturer labels were found. Based on the construction, machine-driven woodwork, drawer bottoms, and mounting method, the ensemble is cautiously dated to the mid-20th century. It is offered as a quality vintage-style ensemble, not as 19th-century antiques.

Condition:

The ensemble is in good, used vintage condition, with normal signs of aging and wear.

The wood shows minor scratches, discoloration, and wear in places. On the front of the right-hand desk drawer there are clearly visible scratches and finish damage. The drawer is complete and functional.

The leather writing surface shows wear, color variations, indentations, and visible seams or older repairs. The chair upholstery has light signs of use. The glass in the cabinet is intact.

Due to size and weight, the ensemble is offered for collection only in Kortrijk, Belgium. The buyer is responsible for sufficient manpower, suitable transport, and protective materials. The cabinet can be dismantled into two parts for transport.
