Description from the seller
Unique antique oak side table / plant stand with six legs, dating from 1900–1920
Gorgeous and characterful antique side table, crafted in warm, dark brown oak. What makes this table special is the six-legged construction, giving the piece a striking and graceful appearance. The combination of the round top, the star-shaped lower shelf, and the beautifully worked legs gives the table a highly decorative and artisanal character.
The table is believed to date from around 1900–1920 and fits well within the Arts & Crafts style in terms of design, with emphasis on natural materials, craftsmanship, and decorative woodwork.
The top is round, with a diameter of about 38.5 cm. The edge is beautifully rounded and features subtle decorative wood carving. Under the top there is a gracefully shaped edge with arched, carved motifs that reinforce the artisanal look.
The table stands on six slim, turned legs. The legs are elegantly formed and taper downward, ending in small, rounded spherical feet. Between the legs is the second shelf, which has a special star-shaped form with curved sides and a decoratively shaped edge. This creates not only extra storage space but also a beautiful open and airy overall appearance.
Because of its compact dimensions, this table is excellent as a plant stand, side table, or decorative table. The round top offers space for a lovely plant, lamp, vase, or decorative object, while the lower shelf provides extra space for books or smaller home accessories. A special piece of furniture that rightfully stands out in a classic, country, vintage, or eclectic interior, but also as a characterful accent in a modern interior.
