The unit and the supplied replacement remote control are in good condition.
In the last 25 years the Wadia, symmetrically connected to end amplifiers from Primare and Elektrocompaniet, has made a great impression.

Description:
The Wadia 860 is a 25 kg heavy integrated CD player with digital inputs and a built‑in preamplifier.

It is a very solidly built CD player.
The Teac / Esoteric VRDS mechanism used is above question. The built‑in DAC is only suitable for CDs, but that is exactly what the Wadia 860 does perfectly – much better than many top‑class CD/SACD players.
Via the digital inputs you can also connect your streamer or other digital sources.
There are 4 digital inputs and outputs available; AES/EBU (XLR), SPDIF (coax), Toslink (optical) and ST (optical).
The Wadia 860 features a built‑in preamplifier with volume control, so you can connect it directly to your active speakers or power amp.

Sound characteristics: The Wadia 860 sounds particularly robust. A strong bass, an analog midrange and a silky, very refined high end.
When connected directly to active speakers or an end amplifier it becomes clear that the built‑in Class A preamplifier is fully up to its task.

The Wadia is packed very carefully and shipped worldwide.
