• Democratic Republic of the Congo
• Max. dimensions: 73 × 8.5 cm
• Period: late 19th century/early 20th century
• Weight: 730 g
• Provenance: Former Belgian colonial collection; Danny De Waele - Belgium (dannytribalart)
— Former colonial collection (with a bit of digging, I can locate a photograph of the knife in a 1970s collection) and despite the worn upper blade, this sickle-type knife of Bandia/Benge/Nzakara remains a very fine collectible piece from the late 19th century.
It really has an impressive size and substantial weight.
