Bedspread - 270 cm - 260 cm

Elegant and majestic bedspread for a double bed dating from the mid-20th century (roughly the 1940s–1950s), coming from an Italian private dowry set.
The bedspread, made of cotton and fiber blend with an applied/raised work, is structured on a mechanical-twill jacquard loom with a relief technique attributable to the brocatello or mousse type. The design develops in alternating vertical panels, characterized by phytomorphic motifs and stylized poppies in relief, rendered in coral red, ochre, and hazelnut tones on a light cream-colored background.
The peripheral edge is finished with a woven reinforcing ribbon on which a dense and rich blue knotted fringe is applied. The approximate dimensions of the piece are 260 x 270 cm, fringe included.
The item presents itself in excellent overall condition relative to its period of provenance. The natural and correct patina of time is evident, with a compact and solid fabric, stable coloration, and intact fringe, free of structural tears or evident alterations.
