Moorcroft Pottery faience vase from England in Art Nouveau style with a 360-degree floral décor, designed by Walter Moorcroft in 1994, signed WM in green under the base with MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND marks, height 25 cm, diameter 14 cm, mint condition.
Description from the seller
Authentic Moorcroft Pottery vase, England.
Pattern Columbine Leaf and Berry, thick oval variant.
Artist Walter Moorcroft 1994.
Signature initials WM painted in green under the base.
Marks under the base clearly visible in photos: stamped MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND plus an eye mark painted plus initials Kg (tube-lined painter) plus B (color painter) plus WM in green. Eye mark characteristic of 1994.
Shape: bulbous thick ovoid vase with a flared rim, flared foot, broader and stouter than the pedestal trumpet model.
Height 25 to 26 cm, measured with a yellow tape (photo 1).
Opening 8.5 cm diameter, measured from above (cenital photo).
Midsection diameter max about 16 to 17 cm; base about 12 cm.
Decoration: hand-painted tube-lined enamel with starry leaves; tall blue flame that fades to violet; stylized trees; pale pink to orange background; buds and berries; lower area green and red; decoration 360 degrees.
Technique: tube-lined enamel with brilliant glaze, Walter Moorcroft.
Material: fritware (faience) with glaze.
Condition: good vintage condition with no chips; no cracks; slight glaze crazing under the base. No restoration.
Colors: bright, vivid.
Provenance: from an old private Belgian collection, Montpellier; same lot as another Moorcroft piece; overall height 28.5 cm.
