This hand-knotted Sarough-Mir rug from India features a classic, medallion-free boteh allover design. The light field is completely filled with small, regularly arranged boteh motifs. The dense and even repetition of the traditional pattern creates a calm and harmonious overall impression.

The cream-colored interior field forms a striking contrast to the dark brown, wine red, and dark blue boteh motifs. Several finely patterned secondary borders as well as a wide brown main border with floral and curvilinear elements frame the inner field harmoniously. Subtle accents in beige, blue, and green complement the balanced color scheme.

The traditional motifing and restrained color palette give the rug a timeless and elegant Oriental appeal. Due to its generous size, it is well suited for living and dining rooms, bedrooms, or as a decorative centerpiece in a spacious living area.
