This hand-knotted Tabriz-Mahi rug from India features a classic Herati medallion design. In the center lies a finely graded, multicolored medallion, surrounded by a densely patterned inner field with diamonds, rosettes, stylized blossoms, and curved leaf shapes.

The warm rust-red inner field is complemented by cream, dark blue, light blue, green, and various browns. Light corner ornaments echo the form and color of the central medallion, creating a balanced, symmetrical design.

Several finely patterned secondary borders and a broad dark main border with floral tendrils and rosettes frame the inner field harmoniously. The intricate patterning and the warm, high-contrast color scheme give the rug a classic and elegant Oriental appearance.
