This hand-knotted Kayseri prayer rug from Turkey features a finely worked Mihrab and column design. The deep dark blue inner field is framed by an architecturally styled prayer niche with two slender columns. In the center is a symmetrically arranged floral bouquet.

Above the prayer niche is a decorative row of stylized arches, reminiscent of traditional mosque architecture. Several richly patterned borders with blossoms, palmettes and flowing scrolls in light blue, cream, gold-brown, old rose, and green harmoniously frame the dark inner field.

The comparatively dense knotting and the contrasting color scheme give the rug a refined and elegant appearance. Due to its elongated format, it is excellent for living and bedrooms, entryways, or as a decorative accent.
