Bijbel met dubbele messing sluiting - Nederland - Amsterdam - 1759

The antique Bible in Gothic script contains the New Testament of Jesus Christ + the Book of Psalms together with the Hymns for the Reformed Church of the Netherlands + Catechism and was published by the heirs of Mrs. J. Ratelband and J. Bouwer in Amsterdam. It has a double brass/copper clasp. Book cover in black Morocco leather (finely tanned goatskin), blind/gold stamping along the edges, gold on the gilded edge. In the Bible a peacock feather (eye of God) serves as a bookmark.

length 17.5 cm - width 11 cm - thickness 7 cm and a weight of 830 grams.
