Lidded vase - Porcelain - China - Blue Enamelled Doucai

A rare large Chinese blue enamelled and underglazed blue porcelain ginger jar with cover, dating to the Republican period circa 1930.

The generously rounded body is decorated with floral and foliate motifs executed in underglaze cobalt blue, further enhanced with overglaze blue enamel detailing. The combination of underglaze blue and overglaze blue decoration creates a layered effect reminiscent of the DOUCAI technique, with the overglaze blue used to reinforce outlines and enrich selected areas of the design.

The base features an unglazed foot rim and a simple double-circle mark in underglaze blue.
