Description from the seller
Pair of antique walnut chairs – Louis-Philippe style – 19th century
An elegant pair of 19th-century chairs, presenting a beautiful silhouette typical of French furniture from this period.
The chairs feature a remarkable openwork backrest with a rounded shape, highlighted in its center by a small carved medallion and volute ornaments. The front legs are delicately splayed, giving the overall look a particularly elegant line.
The structure is made of solid wood in a warm brown hue, probably walnut, displaying a lovely patina and the natural marks of time.
The seats are generously padded and upholstered in a beige fabric with a pattern of small pink flowers and green foliage, traditionally secured by a row of decorative nails.
The underside also reveals the construction and traditional upholstery of the seat.
The two chairs form a true matching pair and present a striking decorative appearance.
They will suit both a classic interior and a contemporary décor mixing antique and modern furniture.
