Dutch Art Deco Hexagonal Brass-Top Accent Table, 1920s
A wonderfully unusual Dutch Art Deco accent table, most probably dating from the 1920s, combining the handcrafted character of the Arts & Crafts movement with the geometric language of the Amsterdam School and Viennese Secession.
The hexagonal wooden top is completely covered with brass, carefully folded around its edges. The brass is decorated with a remarkable geometric composition, radiating symmetrically from the centre in a network of angular lines, stepped forms and abstract motifs.
