Antique Fratino Table - Renaissance/Baroque Style - Solid Walnut - Italy, 19th Century
Description:
Elegant and imposing low table of the "Fratino" type, a classic of rustic and genteel Italian furniture.
Material:
Entirely made of solid wood, presumably walnut, with the splendid dark warm patina acquired over time.
Technical and Construction Details:
The table features the classic rectangular top with molded edges.
The supporting framework consists of two sturdy side lyre legs, richly shaped.
The legs are connected by a central horizontal brace, also shaped on the underside, fixed to the legs via the typical mortise-and-tenon joints visible with wooden wedge locks. This construction method testifies to the piece's craftsmanship.
Under the top there is a lower rail that conceals a central drawer.
Conditions:
The table is in generally good condition for its age, solid and structurally integral. However, it shows signs of age and use that confirm its authenticity:
