Tray - Mahogany - Gekuipt serving tray

Antique cupped wooden serving tray, made in the 19th century (George III style). This high-quality serving tray is traditionally, artisanal crafted using wooden staves, a technique similar to the construction of classic wine casks. The tray is made from a rich, dark wood (likely mahogany) with a deep, warm color and a beautiful, well-aged patina. The exterior is reinforced and decorated with two distinctive brass bands. The raised rim has a very elegant, undulating (scalloped) shape and is equipped at the short sides with two functional, built-in handles.
