Exceptional and very elegant bedside cabinet (or occasional cupboard / small boudoir bookshelf) in Transition / Napoléon III style, marquetry of precious woods (rosewood and satinwood).

This rare and highly decorative piece is distinguished by its upper compartment hidden behind a superb trompe-l'œil depicting a row of ancient book bindings gilded with tooling, lending a refined charm and a touch of classical originality.
Very good overall condition. The marquetry retains a magnificent original patina with well-preserved motifs. The leather trompe-l'œil displays an authentic aged patina.

There are slight veneer losses / small marquetry chips localized mainly along the edge/gilded top rail of the piece, as well as fine usage scratches on the top surface (visible in the detailed photos). Very solid, perfectly stable and ready to be installed.
