A lion-shaped aquamanile. This object was modeled after a 13th-century lion-shaped aquamanile. The object was made in the late 1800s. It is made of brass or bronze. Such objects can be used as an aquamanile or a small oil lamp. They were taken by students at the end of the 19th century on their Grand Tour.
Originally, a small chain was attached to the chest with a stopper that could be placed on the "tongue" to close the reservoir
Measurements approximately: L: 13.5 cm H: 13 cm.

Een aquamanile in de vorm van een leeuw. Dit object werd gemodelleerd naar een 13e-eeuwse aquamanile in leeuwvorm. Het object werd eind 1800 gemaakt. Het is gemaakt van messing of brons. Dergelijke objecten kunnen worden gebruikt als een aquamanile of een olielampje. Ze werden aan het einde van de 19e eeuw meegenomen door studenten op hun Grand Tour. 
Oorspronkelijk was aan de borst een kettinkje bevestigd met een dopje dat op de "tong" kon worden gezet om het reservoir af te sluiten
