Description from the seller
Fluorite – Rogerley Mine, Weardale, England
Outstanding large cabinet fluorite specimen from the famous Rogerley Mine, Weardale, UK, one of the world’s classic localities for highly fluorescent fluorite.
The specimen measures approximately 18 cm and is covered by numerous well-developed cubic fluorite crystals with an attractive fresh green colour and good transparency, contrasting beautifully with the natural brown matrix. The dense coverage of crystals and the larger cubes concentrated toward one end give the piece a particularly impressive display.
What makes Rogerley fluorite so iconic is its remarkable fluorescence. Under UV illumination, the crystals transform dramatically, displaying an intense electric blue to blue-violet glow, as clearly visible in the photographs. Rogerley fluorites are particularly celebrated among collectors for this striking fluorescent response.
Custom base is included.
