A large 20th‑century antique gilded bronze fountain sculpture in Baroque style, depicting a putto cherub seated on a shell with fish, measuring 65 cm high, 60 cm wide, 50 cm deep and weighing 28 kg, signed AJ. John, includes fountain tubing but no electric motor, in very good condition with minor signs of wear from age.

In this auction a refined and imposing bronze-gilded fountain sculpture of notable size and weight from the 20th century.
The sculpture depicts a putto cherub in bronze, reclining on a huge shell with a fish in his hands.
The fountain is magnificent and of great scenic impact, realized with an elegant putto seated on a conch shell supported by three other large fish at the base.
The sculptural force of the artist is transmitted to the lively and cheerful fish intent on splashing.
The overall impression of this impressive sculpture faithfully recalls the sumptuous French and Italian classical sculptures of important interior or exterior furnishings.
They were often displayed in high-representation settings such as private houses or hôtel particulier.
