Hanging lamp - Murano glass

Opaline glass lamp from Murano, late 1960s. The design features a characteristic ‘bubble’ or ‘cage’ effect, where a blown white opaline glass diffuser is enclosed in a black metal geometric frame with circular motifs. This particular craftsmanship creates a material and visual contrast typical of Mid-Century Modern aesthetics. Made between 1960 and 1970.

This type of opaline glass has the ability to diffuse light softly. Opaline glass was invented in Murano. New, in perfect condition, with a very sturdy cage and with notably thick glass. Lamp height 38 cm, diameter 18 cm, height with chain 92 cm. Weight 2.5 kg. Functioning and wired to standard. The light with opaline glass diffuses better than with transparent glass and with greater uniformity.
