Perthshire paperweight PP1, United Kingdom, made of glass and dating to 1978–1981, with a central signed P-cane surrounded by two concentric rings of millefiori and fourteen radial twists on a deep red ground, and a concave-cut polished base; diameter 6.5 cm, height 4.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Authentic Perthshire PP1 paperweight from Scotland, produced between 1978 and 1981. This example features the classic PP1 design, with a central signed P-cane surrounded by two concentric rings of millefiori and fourteen sections with radial twists extending from the centre towards the outer edge.
The design is set against a deep red ground. The central yellow cane contains the characteristic Perthshire “P” signature and is surrounded by light pink and light purple canes.
The surrounding sections consist of panels with a 1-1-2-2 millefiori arrangement, separated by green-and-white striped twists. The panels contain dark blue, mint green, yellow and brown millefiori canes.
The paperweight has a concave-cut and polished base, consistent with examples from this production period.
The execution corresponds exactly to the PP1 model as described in The Complete Guide to Perthshire Paperweights by Mahoney & McClanahan (1997).
