Description from the seller
TRANSPARENCY NOTE
This model has about 20 years of history and comes from a private collection, having been displayed for a long time without its original packaging or protection. For this reason, it may show dust residues or small signs of wear.
We always strive to photographically highlight every detail, while understanding that aesthetic assessments can be subjective. We have chosen not to intervene with cleaning or treatments, preferring to leave to the final collector the pleasure and accuracy of proceeding according to their own methods to restore the model to its original splendor.
Because these are collectible items that are not new and have 20 years of history, we kindly invite you to carefully review all the detailed photographs and our description, where any missing parts or structural peculiarities are highlighted, before making an offer. Your utmost care in evaluating the images and text helps us ensure a serene and transparent transaction.
Carousel 1 Limited Edition 1:18 McLaren M16 #73 David Hobbs Carling Black Label 1974 Indianapolis 500 with die-cast model certificate 2002
DESCRIPTION
Year of production 2002.
Outstanding and rare 1:18 scale die-cast model produced by Carousel 1 in 2002 (item #4503). Limited edition and numbered on the base frame (example #1747). The model reproduces the famous McLaren M16 single-seater number 73 with black and red Carling Black Label livery driven by David Hobbs at the 1974 Indianapolis 500. The miniature offers an exceptional level of finish with removable bodywork and nose cone that reveal the highly detailed Offenhauser V8 turbo engine, side radiators, suspensions, a detailed competition cockpit, and Goodyear slick tires. Included is the official Certificate of Authenticity, authorized by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum and McLaren International.
COMMENTS
• There is a stiff linkage/arm connecting the rear chassis/suspension that is broken (about 2-3 cm of linkage are missing, clearly visible in the detail photos).
• The model is in excellent overall condition aesthetically.
• Complete with original box, including its protective transparent shell for safe transport and its dedicated stand.
• Requires a general cleaning.
