Description from the seller
Sculptural Art Glass Chalice in Murano Glass - Masterpiece signed by Master Andrea Boscolo - Around 1998 - Unique Showroom Piece with Marine Motif
LOT DESCRIPTION:
Extraordinary sculptural collection chalice in authentic Murano glass, entirely handmade and signed in diamond-point on the base "A. Boscolo" by the famous Venetian master Andrea Boscolo around 1998. The author, who passed away prematurely in 2009, is recognized in the island's glassmaking history as an exceptional innovator and a modern pioneer in lamp-working and hot-working techniques applied to complex and virtuosic works.
This chalice is a showroom masterpiece, an authentic work of art that demonstrates technical mastery beyond the ordinary.
The upper cup (drinking bowl) and the supporting foot show a highly refined internal decoration with color inclusions created by chemical reaction, producing evocative color nuances in shades of green, aquamarine, and burnt brown.
The central stem is a triumph of hot shaping, composed of geometric elements molded among which ribbed spheres and dotted modules in yellow and red.
Toward the end of the stem stands a magnificent figurative element applied hot: a fish worked in multicolored blue, yellow, and red glass, explicitly echoing the rich marine fauna of the Venice lagoon.
A historic and unrepeatable piece of the highest collecting value.
Details of the work:
• Author / Master: Andrea Boscolo (Murano, signed on the base).
• Era: Around 1998 (Late 20th Century).
• Technique: Artistic blown glass, lamp-working and free hot shaping.
• Dimensions: Height 22 cm.
• Weight: 153 grams.
• Condition: Gallery-perfect condition. 100% intact, without chips, inclusions or defects.
Professional shipping suitable to the delicacy and value of the object.
