Very beautiful large statue representing Christ at the Sacred Heart, made in polychrome earthenware from Quimper.
The sculpture features a richly hand-painted decor in blue, red, white, yellow and gold. Christ is depicted standing, arms open, presenting the Sacred Heart. The rectangular base is decorated and bears the inscription “SACRÉ COEUR”.
The piece is marked on the reverse “HR / QUIMPER”, with the indication “1904-1922”, corresponding to the period of use of this mark by the Henriot factory of Quimper.
