COLUMBUS - Corkscrew (3) - Metal, Wood

Lot of three old German mechanical corkscrews, presumably manufactured during the first half of the 20th century:

– a Hercules with an open metal frame and a green-painted wooden handle
– an example clearly marked COLUMBUS
– a particularly model whose metal frame consists entirely of a coiled spring

The designs are based on German patented mechanisms from the late 19th century. The corkscrews are in used condition, with typical signs of age and wear, local paint loss, discoloration and light oxidation.
