Alarm clock - L. Leroy & Cie - Vintage - Gilt brass - 1950-1960

Elegant French gilt-bronze mantel clock from the early 20th century, crafted by the prestigious Paris house L. Leroy & Cie.

The clock features a circular drum-shaped case, richly ornamented with a fine guilloché pattern, with a beaded bezel surrounding a white enamel dial signed L. Leroy & Cie. The dial displays black Roman numerals, complemented by an outer minute ring in Arabic numerals, and is equipped with elegantly engraved hands.

The drum case is supported by two rectangular pillars adorned with neoclassical-style gilded bronze mounts and surmounted by decorative pinecone finials. The whole rests on a rectangular gilt-bronze base enhanced by a molded border with foliate decoration.

The clock bears the number 9612 under the base, accompanied by the letter A struck beside it.

Condition
The clock shows light signs of wear and aging consistent with its era, while preserving a very good overall condition. The movement is currently functioning; the mechanism runs smoothly and the clock indicates the time accurately. The striking mechanism for the hours is operational; however, the number of strikes is not currently synchronized with the time displayed on the dial. A adjustment or service of the movement would restore perfect synchronization of the strike with the time.
